2008's Year in Review (August to December)

2008 in review..

Here is August - December

Augustwas a VERY exciting and bittersweet month as Corbin started Pre-K. He was excited but reluctant...

With his teacher Mrs. Bruno

In September we did our annual trip to see "Bepa" (my dad) in New Jersey. Unfortunately, Corbin got his first of many colds/ear aches/sinus infections from school. We still had time with our family, and Corbin's best buddy Eva-my cousin, as well as a visit to the Museum of Natural History.

October is a grand month simply because it is my birthday.. no but seriously I love to dress for Halloween with Corbin and I love the beginning of fall.

The obligatory yearly pumpkin patch photo

It even got cool enough to wear a jacket at the park with the hood up!

November was a VERY busy month. I spent most of the month shooting or editing images as well as getting large projects in for school and finishing up school based hours. Corbin and I did our normal outings...

I just left the camera at home ( imagine that)

Corbin did have a Thanksgiving feast at school for which I was present to get a snap of him as an Indian.

How!

Thi is an example of Corbin assisting me with my lighting before a shoot. He is quite the good helper.

That leaves us with December ...
I finished up my classes and am on an official vacation from shooting and schooling. This leaves more time for Corbin and I to have fun til Spring semester starts.

We visited the jolly ole fat dude at the mall.

Corbin hung his new ornament for 2008 on the tree. It is a train- it's a shocker- I know!

Corbin also got a new bike before Christmas since he is too big for the one he never wanted to ride. He loves this one as it is red!

Lastly.... Chris built the train table that awaits Corbin's first big boy hobby train. Which will be on that table Christmas morning.

2008's Year in Review ( January to July)

2008 in review...

Here is Jan - July

January was a laid back month. We did visit Safetytown where Corbin learned to crawl low under smoke when in a fire.

We also went bowling... theres our feet.

February was an ordinary month. We did take Corbin to a park that was supposed to have a lake. Crews Lake park is now lakeless. It was disheartening to see boardwalks out into dry lands with water depth
sticks bone dry.

Daddy showing Corbin something.

The weeds started popping back up.. and Corbin aided their cause by doing the following..

Huff Puff!

March was an uneventful picture month.. we did go to the renaissance festival.... yeah- not so much.

April is the month that both Corbin and Chris were born. We went to Dinosaur World and Sea World for Corbin's Big 04!! Let us not forget, though, that is hails in Orlando all the time - according to Corbin.

I think we are in front of a velociraptor.

Looking up at T Rex

Then we went to Sea World

Mesmorized by the Manatees.

Then Orlando stayed true to it's reputation and the storms came.

Hiding beneath the poncho to escape flooding rains.

Aside from the fun of Corbin's bday, I decided to go back to short hair and had 13 inches of my hair cut off and donated to Locks of Love. It has been a love affair with my hair stylist since then as I keep going shorter.

May was not too eventful either.
We made Mother's Day cards.

We went to play mini golf and Chris helped Corbin with his putt.

In June we visited the children's museum.
Corbin rowed a boat on a green screen and looked like he was in Italy. He thought it was cool.

We finally took Corbin's four year old pics.. he wanted one with me and his dinosaur. ( apparently on my head)

July was an exciting month!! First, Corbin and I adopted tadpoles, in June, from a first grade class I spent time in. We kept them in the dining room so that Corbin could keep track of their transformation into tree frogs. He was so excited to wake up and have new frogs to release in our yard.

They were tiny!

releasing them, with bed head.

BUT something even BIGGER happened.. Corbin got a big boy bed.Yep- full size!!!

Stay tuned for Aug - December

Welcome to the 2008 Eco(2) Edition of The Schuster Scoop!

Let's face it... the earth is tired of supporting the weight of us humans and our trash and I seem to have more weight and trash then money these days! This is what has prompted the Eco(2) editions of our beloved yearly newsletters to take on an electronic form- (1)less money and (2)less waste.

I decided to go the blogger route as opposed to myspace so as to avoid the stigma, taboo if you will, that is associated with that site.

Thanks for checking the site.. I will try and update it as often as something newsworthy happens.

Much Love,
Heather
